Intimate familiarity and experience in patient assessment gives the nurse an edge on witnessing an Independent Medical Exam (IME). Sending us in to an IME extends that edge to you and your client. We are familiar with the finer nuances of conducting an interview and exam, and evaluating verbal and physical responses. We take extensive notes on the questions asked and answered, components and technique of the exam process, and the comparative time spent in each. At times, our nurses have been called in to deposition to provide educated, credible testimony as to the events of the IME.
