Spousal Care Report
A Spousal Care Report outlines the economic value for replacement of services that a spouse previously provided including, but not limited to, overall household management, i.e., shopping, cooking, cleaning, financial management; and care of the couple’s children, i.e., education, extracurricular activities, etc. The report can also identify the cost value of care that a spouse is now providing for an injured or disabled spouse as a result of an accident, exposure or medical misadventure.
A Certified Nurse Life Care Planner (CNLCP) determines if an on-site or telephonic assessment is necessary based on the needs of each case. Costs to replace the spousal services are then obtained from one provider in the client’s community. A report of lifetime service costs is calculated over the couple’s lifetime based on U.S. National Vital Statistics data for Life Expectancies.
